IT Review/Health Check

The Issue

You have IT staff, support and maintenance contracts, and it works - near enough. You and your IT providers may be too busy making it work to stand back and admit where its failings or vulnerabilities are. The risks of downtime (machine or service failure), the exposure to being attacked (hacked, ransomeware, physical theft), and the contingencies for when any of these occur. The difference between an "incident" and a "disaster".

On the less dramatic front of efficiency, the user perception may be inconsistent with the management one, and the IT staff either not appreciated or they are for the wrong reasons - really good at going out to fix things all the time...err, why have they not fixed the underlying problem?

The Offering

Tranlowe will investigate your existing provision to give it a "health check", rather like a quinquennial inspection but for IT systems.

This will involve sampling documentation and records, inspecting the installations, looking over the network topology, server inter-relationships, backup policy, interviewing key users over provision, IT function governance and budgetary control... In part, simply prompting staff to raise their consciousness of the processes and the "known but ignored" shortfalls - but largely applying extensive experience to identify practical improvements to make.
